Get the Hatch Catch! That’s what we use. I think Subaru should recall that though. It’s sooo annoying not being able to leave your trunk open!!!

i use a carabiner to put on the trunk latch, this makes the car think the trunk is closed, i have a subaru forester lol

Theres a switch on the trunk light! You can also put a caribeaner in the latch or just disconnect your battery

You don’t need to buy anything! You just click the latch twice. The light will go off on the dash and you’re good! I’m so glad I didn’t waste money on a “hatch latch” or whatever on Etsy.

not only is it the light on the trunk but your speedometer screen is on showing the trunk open so that’s also killing your battery; a carabiner in the trunk latch works wonders !

some of these comments make me worry for you all. please all do keep in mind that anything that’s plugged into your car (car charger, anything in the lighter plug, radio adapter) should be unplugged everytime. it will also drain your batteries!!

Fail on Subaru's part. I camp in the back of my jeep with the back gate open all the time. No hacks needed.

push the trunk latch up so it “clicks closed”, this way the car thinks the trunk is closed & won’t drain the battery, to unlatch it just press the trunk button as if you’re going to open it :)
