Suggestion is to lay another sheet of gybrock the hole way down that wall and put a hidden access panel for future works

Plasterboard won’t fit hence why the cap was removed originally. Best way is to over board that side and skim the whole boxing and repaint.

Hang on , mine doest have that sleeve , just a cap , that leaked due to not been tight, would have failed a hydrostatic test if they’ed done one. Builder blew it off and we had to claim on insurance. So much for 6 year workmanship warranty
