I remember how humiliating it was to be at school and not having any supplies. The nurse would give you a pad the size of a diaper. or a tampon with an applicator comparable to shoving a pinecone up there. that was if they had any to even offer. otherwise toilet paper was the only option

And you can’t use WIC or food stamps to purchase products. AND it can keep you from working. Having to call in sick and missing shifts.

Note: not all states charge this tax. Some have passed legislation protecting period products from such a tax.

This why I'm all for the products being in boys bathrooms too because maybe that boy knows how much his mom is struggling at home.

Cups & discs that are reusable and last 10 years are worth the $30 initial cost. Just leaving this here for those who may need it. Research first which one is best for your anatomy because we are all unique. 💕

the amount of uterus having clients we have at my law firm who are AIC have told me horror stories of being forced to bleed out because they simply refuse to give them hygienic products is heartbreaking and inhumane. They're treated like animals

I’ve had to use paper towel and toilet paper. It is so uncomfortable. It bunches up in your parts and chafes- especially if you have to walk a lot.

I bought reusable pads. they are made from cotton. I bought them off of Etsy for $70 and I've used them for 10 years. you soak them in very hot water and soap before washing with your laundry. they've saved me probably a thousand $$$ over their lifetime

I make sure I keep cheap dark wash cloths on hand for the times I have to choose a pack of diapers or a pack of pads for myself. after this baby I will have to stick to rags bc I also have a preteen that will be starting her cycle any time now and I want her to have the pads.

In Canada when our national sales tax was passed there were some things that were exempt that were deemed essential and included men's razors, but not feminine products which I'm sorry to say is actually essential. there was a big push back but it took almost 20 years for them to remove the tax
