You know the k series serpentine belt tensioner can do the same exact rattle on cold starts , there is a mark in the tensioner that will show you if the spring is failing. Just a extra peice of information

Yeah these k series do not like to be neglected on oil. Especially running them low. Often times the timing chain ends up getting "stretched." I had one with 150k miles. Would rev it to 8k rpms regularly. Never had issues.

I hear about people talking about that a lot on that engine. My mom's has 180k not a sound out of it, but we change oil every 3 no more than 4 K maybe that's why you guys have these problems
