She is not referring to the 601A, she is talking about the 601 which cannot be filed ahead of time, only after you are denied at the embassy. You need it for certain criminal convictions (not all). 601A only waives unlawful presence not crimes.

My lawyers told me I was not leaving the USA without the waiver. Every case is different but when I was in Juarez everyone I interacted with had their waiver if they was going from the USA so it’s a rare case

People don’t understand that the I-601A only waives the unlawful presence (ilegal entry) not crimes or any other issue. You cant file the I-601 without the denial notice. It’s not something you can plan ahead. At least he has the option to file the I-601. Not everyone is eligible. Hopefully, you file soon and get approved! Good luck!

I-601A yeah girl out application took 5 years 😭 luckily he was in the U.S for those 5 years then he went to El Salvador and was approved instantly but those 5 years felt like forever 😭😭

They ask for the I601 waiver back in 2022 its been 24 months since they received they waiver and still no updates 🥺🥺🙏 Good luck hopefully they will accelerate the process.

My husband had a misdemeanor. Our lawyer made sure before hand she provided documents that he took care of everything turned in everything they asked and he was approved. He had to go to Mexico. They asked him about it he was honest. Things have really changed. He is currently going for his citizenship God willing.
