@rus_in_the_us: Every time my kids get sick, I’m in panic. Probably, this is the result of my upbringing… #lifequestions #lifeinusa #russianinusa #cultureshock #culturedifferences #roadto10k #russianwomen #parenting
They just tell us to blow our noses or wipe them then run along,

most times you probably keep the kid home for a day or two from school if it's really bad and keep giving them medicine based off of the bottle's recommendation. the recommendations are by weight, not truly age

I only get help if I’m in pain… I have been to school with an untreated broken bone.

good nutrition foods, hydrate with whatever she'll take, Tylenol only if it's affecting sleep, steam, essential oils and extra snuggles

runny noses in the US are almost always due to allergies to pollen outside of winter so it isn't dire, it's just an annoyance

You have to go to school with a cold. Unless you have a fever, a contagious rash, are vomiting, or not functioning, the nurse won't call home

step one: check type of runny nose. from there either stay home or go about life 💯

Raspberry jam? You think that helps a runny nose, that’s funny.

runny nose for my kids/grandkids was allergies most of the time. Benadryl and a Kleenex in the pocket for nose wipes. for the most part a cold is treated with vitamin c and juice. playtime is next unless the fever exceeds 101

Our immune systems are broken, so at the first hint of a sniffle we do lots of fruit, vitamins, water, steam, etc. Most people’s 24 hour cold will have us down for at least a week.

If there's a fever or vomiting it's stay home, rest, drink lots of water, steam/humidifier, medicine. No fever then maybe some cold medicine and a humidifier at night, but we're still going to school/work.

as a little kid i was lucky to have parents who let me stay home when i got a head cold. nowadays my strategy is relax in the early stages so it doesn't get worse later

Always keep an eye on runny noses. Vicks on chest, nose and feet, socks, chicken soup and steam.
