I'm a student therapist (graduating saturday, yay!!) and I'm interested in sandtray. Ive had professors say not to use characters that already have a story associated with them, but I don't fully understand why. I see you have Elsa and Anna. Do you ever see the characters with stories detract/change sandtray work?

I’m curious, do parents ever get distracted by the toys in the playroom? I know personally I have adhd so i get distracted very easily so if something was left in grabbing distant I would grab it to mess with while talking to a therapist.

okay, so I'm 25 now but when my therapist did this with me I was maybe freshly 20/21. This whole video reminded me of every piece I put in my box but the major thing I remember is the mirror in the middle of everything. I said "it's to remind myself to reflect on everything I've gone/will go through and no matter how I looked at things I would still be surrounded by love and could see it from every angle." I kinda needed that memory 😌

Did this with an art therapist as an adult, and honestly, it was one of my favorite ways of processing underlying emotions I hadn't tapped into.
