@royce_renovations: A few things I learned from building this raised flower bed for Mother’s Day is that you need more drainage than you think. I thought a slight space in my boards was enough but you need some holes drilled too. Also worth putting some landscaping fabric down to keep the wood from rotting out. Last thing I learned was that the root ball needs to be broken up slightly to help promote growth. The more you know. Thanks to everyone for sharing their knowledge with me. She loved the raised garden bed, minus those Vikings flowers. Go Pack Go 😎 #creatorsearchinsights #DIY #tips #tutorial #garden
awesome that you fixed it with no fuss. I appreciate that

I've always been told to really break up the root ball, especially on smaller seedlings because many greenhouses will leave the nursery pot on them when they transplant them into larger pots. the nursery pot is a small fabric pouch that is expected to break down over time but I've found them to stay pretty solid for years and can act like a tourniquet on the roots.

A layer of rocks at the bottom plus the hole would have worked for drainage. The holes you’ve drilled are coved by the fabric which will hold water
