If I understand this correctly when a delivery driver confirms the order they are assuming the responsibility for delivering the order to the customer who has placed the order and the financial liability then passes from the restaurant to the dasher for the last mile delivery to the customer?

when I work for DD yes you do confirm the order but after you get the bag. not before. I always check to make sure they got everything right. why because you're supposed to and once you confirmed it just saying that you got it and you're on your way and if anything is messed up is now on their driver.

It really not that hard to confirm the order, I had someone stole my food, they pick it up and haven’t left the parking I was watching their location and immediately it got to switch they got in accident and the next one they was taking to long.

This happened to me. They picked up my order and ate it. when I called they said it was confirmed. but I never got the food and when I tried ordering again they refused my order now I can't order from them. And there are the ones who gave it away.

as much as I dislike the uber eat driver she is right. THERE IS NO UBER POLICY MANDATING THE DRIVER TO CONFIRM ANY ORDER. She is only obligated to provide the Uber eats order code. whether she confirms the order or not she can still steal the food. she should have just left though instead of causing a scene. that's what I do when they force me to confirm and my phone is in the car. I just leave
