In case you ever need a reason to keep your cat indoors - indoor cats have an average lifespan of 12-18 years, whereas outdoor cats an average between 2-5 years. Hope this helps.

Omfg I’m sick of people letting them out. I feel far too much for my cat to let him out and be run over, poisoned, catch diseases, mistreated.. the list goes on. He’s happy, safe and fed at home and is being harness trained so he can go outside to some extent. Ignore the haters.

Some of these comments are horrid 🙈, there's nothing wrong having an indoor cat 🐈, mine is an indoor one he's 1 and absolutely petrified of the outdoors even open the door and he refuses to go out, got him from a shelter at 8 months old, would never force him out either and its def not cruel keeping cats in x

Omg these comments are not it!!! My cat would not survive outdoors at all. It's too dangerous for her and she'd have no idea what to do. I'm not losing my cat because some people think it's cruel not to let her outside, when she's perfectly happy indoors. Everyone has their preferences and everyone's cat is different. If you want to keep YOUR cat indoors, then that is absolutely ok! My friend had two outdoor cats to which I said that if she didn't want them to get in danger she should keep them indoors. And not surprisingly, one got hit by a car. She found out through Facebook and now she doesn't let her other cat outside as she's scared the same thing would happen to him. I feel an overwhelming love for my cat, I couldn't stand anything happening to her. So she stays indoors with supervised outside time in the back garden.

guys sometimes it's just not safe to let your cat outside- people can live near busy roads where their cat can get run over

You’re 100% doing the right thing, I’ve had 3 cats get run over from being outside and it was awful to have to go through. My current cat who actually looks like yours 🥹 stays inside and he’s super happy, healthy and will hopefully live for a very long time!!

A lot of people in these comments don't seem to understand that there are places where outdoor animals carry diseases that can kill cats. Much better to keep them inside and healthy.

My cat is an indoor cat but I take him out twice a day on a harness with a long lead. We come in when he wants to come in. He loves it but loves being indoors too. He has the best of both worlds. Spoilt rotten too. If he went out on his own he'd get pinched, run over or attacked. I'd rather keep him safe. 😻

My cats have a large outdoor enclosure they use but those can be expensive. We only have it for my cats to keep them separated from one of my mum’s cats (who is very territorial) and because one of mine is dumb

Mine has a harness and extendable dog lead on a washing running center of the length of the garden. He has free roam of the garden but can’t get over fences etc

My cat has FIV and asthma, on top of that he has not teeth thanks to his last “owner”. Boy is allowed as much garden time as he wants but he is not safe to be out on the streets, for himself or your cats. Stop judging people trying to protect their babies.
