they are forgetting the difference between channeling and anchoring FREYA DIDN'T CHANNEL she anchored her magic because she had to balance it in the same series it was implied that freya's power was so devastating that she summons city-level storms simply by the fact that her emotions were affected. that's why she anchored her magic because since freya is not immortal she risked dying if she didn't, and for that same reason is that freya when she was immortal made more powerful spells because she didn't have to worry about dying, she knew she was going to live. Freya is so underrated and she is in the top 5 of the greatest raw power feats in the entire history of TVD.

Esther was channeling the entire Bennett bloodline yes but she didn’t use all the power to link the originals she was just drawing from the bloodline as that was her source of magic + dahlia didn’t specifically channel Freya in purpose to link them she buffed freyas power to draw from her regardless. In s3, Freya linked the originals + herself life force to klaus and put them in a deep sleep so they wouldn’t have to die and resurrect on repeat, whilst creating a chambre de chasse, probably her best and most impressive raw power feat
