i lost 100lbs a couple of years ago and i used to associate food with every emotion. sad? let's comfort eat. angry? stress eat. exhausted? let's order instead of cooking. happy? let's go out for food! i have spent so much time desensitising myself from food and i have always said that weightloss is a mental battle with physical side effects. now i see food as an energy source and that's it. it's okay to have treats but i'm not a dog and i don't need to reward myself with food. as soon as i realised that (which took some time, definitely not an overnight mindset switch!) i started to become happier not only in my mindset but also physically!

Taking the focus off the food is life changing. It’s not easy to do, but the way I see it is that food is always going to be there. They won’t ever stop making bread. It’s the whole binge and restrict cycle that starts the food noise.
