I am christian, my fiance is not christian although we meet in the middle. We both agree that what we need in life is what our strongsuit is. I am very conservative. I do not openly talk about religion or my beliefs. He does know them and very much well respects them.

God said we must not follow our heart and what we want, but follow his word and have faith in him, sounds like you just had a bad relationship with the church and I’m sorry that affected your relationship with God. My mom went through a similar thing. I don’t follow a religion, I follow JESUS! It’s okay that you don’t align with a church, it’s just another way to divide us, but following Jesus will always lead you to the right path.

Unitarian Universalist is an incredible way to be spiritual- really anyone religious person can go to these churches because they speak of a higher power so it’s whatever power you choose to believe in. They are very liberal, are focused on community service and outreach, and come without the religious trauma!

Our stories are so similar. Super religious, married a man, tried to be the proverbs 31 wife. Fast forward divorced after 20 years and now married to a woman 🤪 Still love Jesus and we go to church together 💗
