there is a 2fa scam they also do: they claim that you can't enter a server without scanning a qr code... the fact I had to post a PSA twice on all servers that I admin/mod for is insane -_-

Exactly the same thing happened to me a few years back. But it was about my Steam acc. One dude added me on Discord and was like: yo I falsely reported ur acc, talk to this dude he will help you. And send me a discord acc. My younger self fell for that and lost 100€ 🥲🥲

Anytime I get a friend request from someone in a server, if I've never spoken with them verbally several times, I deny it and report the account.

2FA is good. BUT, if you only use Discord on your phone, be careful. When I got a new phone AI was locked out and had to make a new account.

I actually had this happen to me and I hate to say I fell for it and the only reason why was because I got a text from someone who is a friend of mine and the way they texted me seemed like it was real and they didn't know there own account got hacked so I stupidly thought "I trust this person so I'll follow this"

had a mutual message ne saying they accidentally reported me and that I ***had*** to contact discord or my account would be deleted permanently. I asked which server they reported me in and they just kept repeating the same line. ghosted me after I asked which server we first met in 🤣💀
