@peter.coyle.coaching: If you’re over 40, stop training like the influencers you see online. Here are 3 smart adjustments that’ll keep you strong without breaking down: 1️⃣ Prioritise Warm-Ups Loosen your joints, activate your muscles, and prime your nervous system. It’s the difference between building strength and getting sidelined. 2️⃣ Control the Eccentric Slow down the lowering phase. Builds control, strengthens tendons, and reduces injury risk. 3️⃣ Use Higher Rep Ranges 10-20 reps = less joint stress, better muscle growth, and more longevity. this applies if you're 40 and have never been to a gym before. if you have and you work a physical job then it doesn't apply as much.

Bro, I’m honestly in better shape in my 40s than I ever was in my 20s. Clean diet, solid sleep, no smoking or drinking made a huge difference compared to all those sleepless party nights and junk food back then

I agree on all until 10-20 reps. My mind gives up long before my muscle. 8-12 on the other hand is for me perfect. I'm 37 years young 😎

I’ve just turned 40, never really been in a gym and skinny as a twig. Just become a dad so obviously want to get healthier and stronger! Any advice for starting out on this journey?

40 and I’ve never ever warmed up and I go heavy for pyramid 3x10 reps. Just like when I was 25 🤷♂️

I'm mid 50's and still go for PBs, but now for reps. I'm up to 18reps on 100kg bench and determined to reach 20 in the next few weeks 😁💪

Started in the gym in 1975. Even so, now in my mid 60s, I do warmups. Good advice for everyone!

10 reps is crazy with bench or squat, I'll stick to 4-7 reps at the age of 51 😅 bc weight is moderate (80-100 KG)
