It’s Day 22 of the 2025 Spring Cleaning Spree and we’re giving our blinds a well-deserved deep clean 🪟🧼 Blinds are dust magnets, and each type needs a slightly different approach. Here are some quick tips to help you get them clean and looking like new: 1. Start with dusting or vacuuming No matter what type of blinds you have, the first step is removing as much dry dust and debris as possible. I love using my Swiffer or my vacuum with the brush attachment. 2. Cleaning mini vinyl blinds If your vinyl blinds are removable, I recommend taking them down and washing them in the bathtub. Just be careful not to submerge the top mechanism since it can get damaged by water. 3. Cleaning most other blinds For metal, wood Venetian, vertical, roller, and most fabric blinds, it’s best to clean them in place. After dusting, mix warm water with a drop of Dawn dish soap and use my microfiber three-towel system to clean, rinse, and dry. 4. For fabric blinds Always check the manufacturer's instructions. Some may need a specific cleaner, while others can be spot cleaned with warm water and Dawn. Just make sure to test a small hidden area first to avoid damage. When it comes to drying, wipe everything down with a dry microfiber cloth. For vinyl blinds, I love hanging them outside to dry. - @cleanthatup
