My dad cheated on my mom and left our family when they had 3, 5 and under (has been married to the mistress for 30+ years now). When my husband and I decided I would be a SAHM to our severely disabled child, my dad and his wife came to visit and he asked “are you sure you want to be a SAHM? Men see their wives very differently when they stay home and stop taking care of themselves”. I didn’t tell my husband what he said for years, but carried it with me and it created shame and guilt. Now years later I’m finally NC with my Dad… surprised surprise.

I’ve had 4 children, struggled with weight management. My body has changed over the years. My hair isn’t always brushed. I’m often in sweats and a hoodie at home. I don’t wear make up as often as I used to. My husband still drools over me every day. He is still attracted to me in all the best ways! And I’m so glad and grateful that my husband isn’t shallow enough to only care about the shell of who I am and how I look 🥰

I have a son and I live a realistic life so that he doesn’t have high expectations. I want him to have a present and loving and caring partner, but I don’t want him to pressure his future partner past his/her limits. My kitchen and my son’s area is clean but if there’s clutter elsewhere it’s not really a priority for me so that I can be present with my husband and son. 1/2
