Rikers is a disgusting prison. I did two years and it was hell on earth. Completely horrifying to a regular civilian or even the toughest guys

Inmate Violence is high so let’s discipline officers for use of force😂😂 that’s crazy to me as a current corrections officer who has had their fair share of UOF incidents. We are getting so soft on crime and inmates, no wonder they keep coming back 🤷♂️

Biggest problem is the way overpaid corrections officers at Rikers who have also significantly abused generous sick & other time off benefits. Rikers is ridiculously expensive to operate.

Rikers is failing because of dem policy and leadership, period. Inmates can do whatever they want without repercussions. CO’s do nothing because they know if they do they’ll be reprimanded or fired. Until the dems are out of NY, nothing will change
