I’ve always been told to keep Benadryl at home in case I have an allergic reaction some doctors don’t like to believe me on what I’m allergic to medicine wise 😑

My husband bought Tylenol PM which the PM portion is diphenhydramine. He started having some crazy sleep walking episodes. We narrowed it down to that. The nights he wouldn’t take it he was fine. It has been banned since then from our home.

I’ve never used it, never given my kids it either. It honestly scares me how out of it it makes you. We always do Claritin or Zyrtec.

Soooo is there something wrong with me if benedryl doesn’t affect me very much? On bad allergy days I’d take 2 pills- the adult dosage. Sometimes I’d get sleepy but most of the time no.

What about people who have to keep Benadryl on hand for taking allergy immunotherapy shots every other day. I was told liquid Benadryl was the only thing that would work if I had a reaction and epi pen

My daughter’s previous pediatrician tried telling me to give her Benadryl anytime we got in the car to help her motion sickness 🫣 I’ve never given it to her but I was like WUT?🥴

My daughter has epilepsy. Doesn’t Benadryl lower the seizure threshold? We’ve never had to use anything but have always been scared of Benadryl after reading that it can.

benadryl is the only thing that helps my son when he has his more severe reactions. we’ve tried zyrtec during them and it just doesn’t touch it.

Tell this to my pediatricians office!! They keep recommending it for allergic reactions. Our allergies said no throw it away use Zyrtec instead!

What’s so crazy is my son had horrible allergies & asthma when we moved. He got bronchitis & Pneumonia. They told me when he started having wet coughs/phlegm to give him half of a dose at night to dry it up and to help him. I did it maybe 3 times ever but I wish I knew that then.

Zyrtec saved me when round the clock Benadryl and steroids wouldn’t stop my sulfa drug allergy. I went to the er 3 times before a good allergist put me on the Zyrtec.
