I don't know anything about that craft but it could be cool if you added in progressively fading colors and then eventually just white as if a printer ran out of ink halfway through the page

Leave it as the middle section and use a coordinating color or colors on either side. That way you can still get the size you want. Just build off this as the center.

Pick a coordinating color, use it as a border and you could stitch a design in the middle to make it more integrated into it!

Big twist will be put in another store soon bc their exclusivity contract won’t exist once Joann’s is gone for good. But!!! You could always add a border around the edges to expand it with a different yarn and you can keep going like that until it’s the right size

add stripes on both ends using a yarn that's similar material, feel, and weight, in solid colors that coordinate. It'll come out looking like a focal block in the middle of a simpler blanket, especially if you add a thin black or white border when done
