An Apple engineer on X mentioned that they tested keeping the MacBook closed in this way for longer periods, and across multiple tests, this resulted in screen issues and overheating. Keep that in mind.

Here’s an idea, put a little fan there that turns on when you slot on the laptop. That will help with overheating issues if you’re having any.

I guess this will work for those who don’t want to leave it on the desk. Not for everyone though. Some people have much space, prefer clutter or want to prioritize spending on other things.
