@tylerpath: Most people are not engaging as much of their abs as they could be on a decline ab crunch. IMO, you should aim upwards rather than simply curl your torso forwards. This may seem counterintuitive but since the resistance is directly downwards (due to gravity), you’ll be able to better maintain resistance by aiming upwards. Thus, you’re trading less shortening of the upper abs with a descending resistance profile with more involvement of the mid and lower abs under more resistance #fyp #Fitness #gym #bodybuilding

You should read the spine expert Sturt Mcgill's research on sit-ups were one allows lumbar spinal flexion. A way better exercise is crunches on a bosu or swish ball because of the greater range of motion in the eccentric phase.
