@rus_in_the_us: But! Everytime there is “but”. In Russia, many free government doctors are either very old and follow outdated routines… …or very young and still gaining experience. That’s not always great if your baby has a complex issue. The more experienced, “strong” doctors often work in private clinics. But inviting them to your home - or even visiting a private clinic regularly - can be expensive. #lifequestions #lifeinusa #russianinusa #cultureshock #culturedifferences #roadto10k #russianwomen #parenting #medicine #kidsmedicine

Doctors do not visit anyone at home. Nurses come out for the very old or dying if you have good insurance.

nope! you're pretty much on your own after having a kid. you're supposed to see a pediatrician every couple months with a newborn, but after I believe 6 months it's just every year like normal.

I wish :( We had to go to their office every few weeks for checkups, vaccines etc for the first year. It was so hard juggling work with a newborn with visits.

There’s a standard well visit/vaccination schedule but you have to seek it out yourself and there’s nothing legally mandating you to follow them
