I used to change tires before I got into towing. If a socket gets stuck on a bolt. All you have to do is put socket back onto the stud and tighten them back where it’s a little snug and then try to jiggle the socket back and forth and usually the socket gets loose

Next time just thread the lug nut in three threads in and shake the socket until it comes off then with your hand take the lug nut back off. You skip all the hammer hitting
