I was in the area when it happened. I thought it was a joke at first seeing ppl do CPR. I thought it was a Halloween flash mob. My friends were really drunk and wanted to stay and party but after seen the bodies covered in tarps, I walked all the way back home to Gangnam.

I remember the ahjussi who offered food the morning after the tragedy. He was initially being removed by police but he insisted “the kids need to eat.” Then he was joined by the police officers in mourning.

I still remember the man in the alleyway the next morning trying to give the victims souls a meal because the kids needed to eat, one more meal to send them off with.
