What if your Subaru legacy will work fine in the morning but will not blow any air in the afternoon after sitting out in the sun all day. It is an hour drive back home with no ac. No air will come at any speed, and it does make a slight noise when on but not super loud.

This is very common on these Subarus. Most of the ones I’ve repaired are from a melted connector for the fan speed due to high resistance! Great diag!

you might actually have advice on this. so 2013 hyundai veloster, the cc dial is a copper to copper rotary dial that loves to melt itself to oblivion, any tips on how to stop it from melting?

Usually the resistor blows because of the fan has high resistance or loos connection. the new resistor will evenually blow after few months

You were talking about GM cars can blow the connector pin and resistor and said that the blower motor is creating a high resistance. How do you fix that? Do you replace the blower motor?? I just replaced the resistor on a family friends car on a 2018 Chevy trax and next day the resistor and connected was melted. Replaced both and within thirty seconds it melted again. If you have any help I’d really appreciate it because my understanding is I need to replace them again along with a new blower motor
