@gymmotivation182: #bodybuilding #GymTok #jordanpeters Science-based lifting sounds great on paper, but in practice, it often falls short. The biggest problem is that it turns training into an intellectual exercise instead of a physical one. Too many lifters hide behind studies and data instead of putting in real, consistent effort. They obsess over minor details—like optimal rep ranges or rest periods—while missing the bigger picture: hard work, intensity, and long-term consistency. It also tends to ignore individual differences. Most studies are based on group averages, not what works best for you. What’s “optimal” in a lab setting isn’t always realistic—or effective—in a real gym with real people. And ironically, the science crowd often becomes just as dogmatic as the old-school lifters they criticize, dismissing decades of anecdotal success just because it’s not peer-reviewed.

The whole point of fatigue management is to be able to train hard every session lol

Science based lifting is what we do when we wanna grow and don't get pumped up genetics, nor chemistry For more than obvious reasons it won't fit all bodys, but neither will bro split You can ask the body for strength or endurance but not both at the same time on the long term it is not sustainable without gear, so as a natural managing fatigue, using your brain while training (it is there for something) going heavy and actually start to experiment new methods will get you there for sure

Based bio, I'm a "science based lifter" myself, but I always critique the same thing, they go soo deep into studies, into optimizasing everything that they end up forgeting hard work, consistency and individualization (srry for my english, 3rd lenguage)

I've never seen a sound argument against science based lifting, it's always "it's only good on paper" and never a rebuttal against any claims made

I don't get this kind of content, ik recently lots of kids have been uploading useless bshit but I consider fatigue management something to consider about, I mean even JP yaps about fatigue management being useless but rests +3 nights between some lifts when he does high volume in a session because he knows he's not going to be able to recover from that in short term, isn't that fatigue management or am I crazy?

If your goal is to get stronger/bigger why shouldn’t you want to manage fatigue as fatigue means a measurable reduction in performance(less weight/reps)?

The science based lifters you’re referring to in the caption don’t take advice from outcome based studies, there’s no problem with increasing MUR if you know what you’re doing

you know that bodybuilders are the most scared from fatigue that they only do bro splits and have like 2 weeks of recovery before their next workout?
