Chatgpt is only good for architectural and style ideas. Too often, it gets stuck waffling back and forth on a solution, fixing one problem, while creating another.

Agents does 80% of the job, then bump into an issue, could not fix it, get itself into a hamspter wheel loop. This happened too often.

What's the best AI for coding? I have the impression that Qwen > DeepSeek > ChatGPT, but I haven't used Claude enough to compare it to these.

There is no OpenAI model that can surpass Claude 3.7 and Gemini 2.5 in coding agent performance. Mini is nice if you’re on a budget though.

I have like 2 years of basic basic coding knowledge, like a few elective classes when I went for an associates, I’ve tried doing some coding stuff, and asking it to simplify it down for me, and was not having good results, I hope this makes it fun learn more

Try to maintain that code in production. Still a lot of way to go for autonomous solution. Assistance - yes, fully autonomous? God bless you if you do that in the long run

this is very exciting!! i’ve found chat gpt / copilot to be excruciating with coding help… they seem to end up in some kind of a loop? helpful for a while, but then seems to ‘forget’ what ‘fixes’ have already been actioned, so i end up promoting it to fix the same thing several times??! might just be a ‘me’ thing though 😐

i think OpenAI is being smart. They are focusing on UI and ease of workflow with codex. Soon the ability of the models will be high enough that the gains most people will see are going to be negligible so the winner will be the company that produces the most intuitive and efficient UI workspace.

every week someone is launching something. You get there to chack it out and the free single question you ask returns a no-big-deal and ask you for a subscription. I'm 40 years in engineering. When they have a real product call me. Till now its a flashy no big deal (4 me).tnx
