Nah, Madonna wasn’t on MJ’s level. Even 16 years after his death people still talk about him more than Madonna. MJ was releasing music between 1969-2001

You cannot compare artists to artists. If we talk of MJ, he died very soon, but girl since 5 to 50 he produced just the best the music could ask for. All MJ’s song are known and this make you reflect of how genius he was. Not only on music, but was influenced by dance, movies, fashion, philosophy, art, science, religion, and go on.. and we all know his cultural impact, that if we need to be precise neither Madonna could reach in his lifetime. MJ was and is still on the mouth of everyone, for over 60 decades.

Kylie Minogue is also up there, maybe shes not huge as in the US as anywhere else in the world, but she has been consistently releasing hit after hit from 1987 The locomotion to Padam Padam in 2023 and is still selling out tours worldwide

So it was 2012 and have always heard many songs of Madonna and then I went on a deep dive after her halftime show, I realized there’s many reasons why she’s queen of pop and why no one will ever take her spot. And I love many others as well! But Madonna is Queen of Pop.

I think that some people don't understand that Madonna's success is not just about charts, it's about cultural relevance and her impact in the industry and basically human history. Even when she flops, she's still relevant and people still talk about her

I’d argue Mariah Carey is up there. 19 1#s and her flop era was not really a flop era it just wasn’t as big as her 90s and then emancipation came out and brought her back on top
