I’m so torn about the idea of gene editing on humans. On one hand, I’m all for using it this way to save lives. On the other, I have precisely zero faith in humanity to not eventually abuse this technology in horrible ways

This is what DNA editing should be used for: restoration/rejuvenation of healthy/normal DNA, and not to alter aesthetics/attributes for designer babies. Can't wait to see where this research leads (hopefully it isn't abused...).

CRISPR is amazing, it's amazing to finally see it making it to actual treatments. This has been 30+ years in the making to get where we are today. It finally gives people with genetic disorders a hope for a cure and not just treatment of symptoms.

I appreciate this so much. I remember CRISPR becoming a huge deal while in school for biochemistry. I went industry into pharmacy and lost touch to this research side. Thanks for your synopsis ❤️
