Been a trans tech at a dodge dealer for 8 years. We have always tap the snap ring back into the case with a small hammer and flat head. No need to make the customer pay for a teardown every time a 68rfe needs a valvebody or solenoid pack.

UPDATE : I was able to give the snap ring some generous taps and it eventually went back in and sat flush with the case. Everything went back together perfectly

That’s the 2c snap ring. Not the 4c snap ring. But the 2c snap ring should be visible. Just a typo

When I had my valve body upgraded, there’s a pressure solenoid on it that has a code that needs written down before install. The dealer needs this code to write the tcm the calibration for that solenoid. Not sure if this version has that.

that's a simple fix, just just a push and hammer to tap it in place so it's not visible
