You’ve read Proverbs! Nice! Reading the Apocrypha is also necessary to fill in gaps. Those books were removed by men who decide they wanted to control the story. It tells about why Abraham was chosen, why Job was attacked, and also the story of Wisdom from Proverbs, who is actually the Holy Spirit. The Testament of Solomon is also crucial. Happy seeking! 😁

That’s what caused the schism in the church. “In that time everyone did what they thought was right in their own eyes.” You need mentors.

I understand what you’re saying and I agree to some degree. While I agree that every Christian should read The Bible I disagree with having everyone interpret the scripture for themselves this is how heretical groups happen for example the universal church calls themselves “Christians” but their beliefs go completely against the Bible. That’s why we need Tradition along side the scripture. And Christians should believe that the Bible is the infallible word of God so we should have people (lead by the Holy Spirit) to infallibility interpret the scripture. And that is what Jesus established on earth.

So to read the bible you have to meditate and understand every detail, and you are right you interpret it thats why you pray before you read it so God can enlighten you with the knowledge you are intended to understand

Listening to what other Christians told me about the Bible actually KEPT me from faith. After I recieved the Holy Spirit and read for myself, EVERY question I ever had was answered. In a very “duh” way 🤣

The Catholic Church started when Jesus appointed the role to Peter. Each of Peters successors interprets the Bible, and God works through them. Of course we are encouraged to read it, but we have a head figure that we can go to with questions

You actually have to keep reading it... It changes over the years, and you interpret it differently in your 20s, 30s, 40s, etc.
