I think most ppl hate on ambulatory wheelchair users, purely cos they have cool wheelchairs. Like I can walk fine but if someone offered me a battery powered go kart to razz about town on, I'd love it

How do you not get abuse? Years ago I used to do that and the grief/abuse I got. I’m glad people are a bit more relaxed these day :).

I have only just started to use my wheelchair and the abuse and remarks I've been getting is horrible. It's like I need to carry a Dr's note around with me to show people!

absolutely recommend using a wheelchair if you can't walk long distances. some days I can walk miles and some days I can't walk at all. I have Hypermobility

same! i cannot walk for so long/far so I use my wheelchair when I'm outside. I still can stand up and walk for a short period of time.

Thank you for this. I’ve been struggling with my chronic illness and if I need to get a wheelchair for harder days— but I feel like I should be fine to walk… but I know I’m not and need aid. I’ve been having a hard time, this video helped.

And the struggle of people staring at us disabled folk getting our own mobility aids out of our cars and get in them ourselves 💀😂. Everyone seems to stare as I lift my scooter out and then get in. Presuming my whole body is useless.

My mum can’t walk far and she can’t lift heavy things, when she had a mobility car the cost to put a hoist in was so expensive she couldn’t afford it. Meant she had to still take one of us to go (1)
