I just toss the pumpkin seeds from Halloween on the ground in the fall and they come back on their own lol. I don’t even push them in dirt.

uh, why soak them and dry them off? I plant 200+ mounds and just direct seed and if it's dry, maybe water them in if no rain is coming for the week.
