It’s weird the way they wrote these scenes. Like every episode I wished for the knife to be twisted into this feeling for Christopher so he’d stop acting like a rich dad was all Rory needed. But the things being described by the dads in this scene aren’t the things that Lorelai had to do much of. Like she was obviously pouring herself into raising Rory but she’s often admitted it herself that Rory in many ways raised herself to be academically successful. She created her own discipline and Lorelai sounds like she adapted to support her. I’m not undermining how hard it was for Lorelai, but just talking specifically about the things being listed by these dads. But nevertheless, glad Christopher got to feel the gravity of his absence.

Im just gonna say this: Loraili *I can't spell* doesn't sound like she was all that willing to co parent with Christopher. I know she always says she left the door open to him to be around Rory, but let's be real: based on what we see and know about her from the show do you HONESTLY think she would have let Christopher have any real say or action in Rory's life? Loraili is very possessive over Rory and I highly doubt she would have let Christopher have any role in Rory's life other than child support checks *maybe*, the occasional visit and phone call like is already being done, and likely no actual shared custody like Rory spending the summer/weekend/holidays him. Im not saying Christopher isn't a deadbeat because 100% he could have and should have shown up more for Rory, but i am saying that now that im older and have seen the show 3 times I can say that I do feel fairly sorry for him. he even says in the revival when Rory asks him if he was happy how things turned out with her mom raising her and not him having a bigger role and he says "nothing was coming between you two". Lorali 100% wasn't willing to actually let him be a real dad
