Replying to @Autumn Wilkinson Anonymous employee complaints can be effective. Unfortunately, from the many I’ve seen, they often lack enough detail to be able to conduct a thorough investigation. They often lack dates and times, quotes, and what exactly happened. A claim of “this manager harasses everyone,” is very difficult to investigate especially when out of “everyone,” only one complaint has come in. Employees should provide as much detail as they can. And for employees who want to know the outcomes of investigations, you rarely will if the complaint was anonymous as HR or the investigating party doesn’t know who to get back to. Also, not all complaints get investigations or investigations led by HR. Sometimes they are just given to the leader to review. If you call a hotline to leave a complaint, they often transpose your complaint and send it electronically to the company. It’s possible they send the voicemail, but I haven’t seen much of that.
