@senatornednwoko: Midweek, I received a delegation from the African Diasporan Union who formally presented a bill seeking to grant Nigerian citizenship to Afro-descendants who have traced their ancestral roots to Nigeria. I assured them of my support while noting the importance of aligning such proposals with our constitutional and legal processes. As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Reparation and Repatriation, I believe this office must serve the people meaningfully. In a related effort, I have also presented a bill for Nigerians in the diaspora to be able to vote, which is now under deliberation in the Senate.
