@careesekwok: 2025 BROOKLYN HALF ✅ The whole world knows I’ve been dealing with IT band syndrome for over a year now and have had to defer multiple races over the past year bc of it 🥲 my injuries have not fully subsided, but I was determined to run the bk half! I just started seeing @matthewboydphysio a few weeks ago who helped me build a road to recovery plan and advised me on my strategy for this race, with the goal to just finish without pain. I did a 5 min run/ 1 milk walk plan and definitely had some knee pain pop up around miles 8/10 to the finish - but it wasn’t debilitating (like it was during the marathon!) and I was able to finish 😭 I’m basically back at square 1 🤣having lost so much fitness from this journey, but hoping I can build back up stronger and smarter!! Special shoutout to @strava for the VIP bib! I felt major imposter syndrome wearing it bc I didn’t feel like I deserved it but NO MATTER THE PACE, IM A RUNNER IM AN ATHLETE AND I DESERVE IT!!!
