gunna’s 2023 album cover was sculpted, not designed. it was made by daniel arsham in white cast resin, scratched open to show raw crystal beneath. arsham calls this style “fictional archaeology” — sculptures built to look like they’ve survived collapse. parts of the face dissolve. headphones, cars, cameras, statues. all fractured, all quiet. he’s reworked everything from a delorean to a pikachu. each object looks frozen, like it fell from the future into dust. the surface is matte. the wounds are glossy. his collaboration with gunna was one of the few that didn’t feel like branding. just a head, cracked open, eyes hidden. nothing written, nothing said. daniel arsham was born in 1980. his sculptures often include materials not meant to last. #fyp #gunna #danielarsham #coverart #rap - @riot_worldwide
