After the ceremony and family photos, while cocktail hour was going on, my husband and I took a 30 minute break in the bridal suite. We were served a tray of our appetizers and drinks, and then we were able to freshen up before heading down at the end of cocktail hour to greet guests in a receiving line with our parents as they entered the reception hall. It was a needed break, but we still got to enjoy our cocktail hour.

I got married last June. I personally liked taking the pictures prior to the ceremony bc then the social hour wasn’t crazy long! Guests commented how much they liked that

I had two of my cousins and a close friend help as “coordinators” during the day. The venue had a planner, but she was useless (unfortunately). They handled any issues that arose so my mom and I didn’t have to deal with the stress. I had emergency kits and walkie-talkies for them too as well as my master binder with all the schedules and details.

I loved doing a first look. We scheduled in about 30 minutes for a first look and to read personal vows to each other. It was such a sweet time, the photos are beautiful, and it took away all of our nerves. Plus we got all our photos done before the ceremony.

Last tip☺️I got a pair of pearled Betsy Johnson sneakers off of Amazon and changed into them before the reception. Best decision ever! It made me so comfortable during the reception, and looked super cute under my satin dress.
