@klthurman: Hard to know when prednisone is necessary. I know it can have bad side effects but I’m not super worried about that. Honestly would feel more comfortable with Plaquenil but it’s more long term and slow to fix the issue, and I’m not sure I have time to start it. #ivfcycle #ivftransfer #ivf #reproductiveimmunology
I did benedryl, Claritin, and Pepcid. Couldn't do the pred cuz of type 2.

The Upscale Miniaturist :
I was told during my HSG that I needed to do an allergy protocol of prednisone because I was allergic to peanuts and tree nuts, broke out in hives 21 years ago and didnt need an epi pen for it but it could make me have a reaction to the contrast dye. I said I had have contrasr dye done several times in the last 5 years unrelated to fertility and never had doctors say I needed to do an allergy protocol before getting a CT or MRI. No reaponse other than well then you cant move forward. They asked if I had an epipen currently and I said yes but it was only to be safe, I never had to use it ever. They wldnt budge even though I said I do not want to put something unnecessary in my body that carries a lot of bad side effects. My husband came with me for my ultrasound a week after my saline sonogram and canceled HSG, at first the doctor wldnt budge and said I had to do the HSG and allergy protocol. My husband said do people doing IVF ever need an attorney to help them fight for their rights during medical procedures because you make everything sound like its necessary when it makes no sense, someone could have an allergic reaction to the contrast used for HSG and have no known allergies, so do you put everyone on an allergy protocol bc just like what if my wife has a reaction anyone could? And I find it unsettling that if we dont do something the immediate response is well then you cant do IVF...so do you suggest we retain an attorney throughout this process that can advocate for us when you want to force us to do things we heavily question or dont want to do bc its not needed? She didnt respond and said my ultrasound and saline sonogram came back great w no issues and she saw no reason I needed to get an HSG therefore I didnt need to do an allergy protocol. When my husband and I got in the car he said, see how quickly she went from you need it/need to do the protocol to you dont even need an HSG? There are prob so many people that just say yes bc they want a baby so bad they will do everything including not advocate for themselves and just yes them to death which in turn means they make more money off of you.
