@advanced.nutrition1: 🍌 Banana & Blood Sugar CGM Experiment 📈 Had a medium banana — still slightly green — and tracked my glucose response using a CGM. 🔺 Peak: 6.9 mmol/L (125 mg/dL) 🔻 Return to baseline: 4.0 mmol/L (72 mg/dL) 📉 Baseline: ~4.8 mmol/L (86 mg/dL) Despite a moderate glycemic index (48) and medium glycemic load (15), this banana caused a sharp insulin response — likely due to its high insulin index of 81 and ~26g net carbs. My glucose spiked modestly but dropped quickly, probably from a strong insulin release. ⚠️ While this response was manageable for me — a healthy, non-diabetic — bananas aren’t ideal for those with insulin resistance, prediabetes, or diabetes. Berries are your best alternative. Bananas may be natural, but “natural” doesn’t always mean metabolically friendly — especially if you're carb-sensitive. 🧠 Reminder: this is my personal data, not medical advice. Always experiment mindfully. #CGM #GlucoseExperiment #BananaTest #BloodSugar #banana #MetabolicHealth #InsulinResponse #InsulinResistance #DiabetesAwareness #LowCarbLiving #KetoWarning #GlycemicLoad #WholeFoodsCaution
