I rented nearly every one of Bakshi's movies one week and had a marathon with my then girlfriend. Wizards, American Pop, Fire & Ice, Lord of The Rings, Fritz The Cat, etc. She looked at me and said "Now I know what's wrong with you."

The ending is so hilarious to me. When I was a kid I didn't get it. Like, why did the wizard need a gun? Then when I watched the movie later it has a whole different meaning.

Bakshi's one of my absolute favorites. Loved his LotR before Jackson did his, and he had a near 100% quality record until Cool World. Even then, it's a fascinstingly odd and off-putting failure.
