I think you'd love Bar Harbor and Booth Bay Harbor in Maine. Both are further north and a little more rustic... but so beautiful.

Unfortunately politics play a big factor in terms of where I would live. I can’t be surrounded by close minded trumpers even though South Carolina would be great (too hot in summer though)

I’ve lived in Maine my whole life, I’m bias, but there truly is no place like it, beaches, mountains, farmland, cities, all the seasons and the beauty that comes with that. There simply isn’t anywhere else like it. I always want to come home when I’m gone!

Just want to point out they’re all vacation homes for wealthy people from away who generally don’t live there year round. Most Mainers can’t afford those homes. You’re more likely to find a “Mainer” beach house somewhere like OOB

As a new englander, I was so excited to move to NC. Traveled regularly to SC, IOP, Charleston, but the heat of the south is something I’m not cut out for. It’s soo hot!!

Great video! New England is incredibly beautiful. Maine is great however I have been to Maine in the winter and have seen the snow as deep as the tops of the houses. People had dug tunnels to get out. I would gladly get a summer house in Maine.

You really need to visit Michigan next! Northern Michigan (Upper Pennisula, Mackinac Island), West Coast Michigan (Traverse City, Saugatak, Petoskey) and the Detroit area are my recommendations. I’m from Michigan and it’s a beautiful state

I live in CT and just went on a trip to Portland ME last week. I absolutely love living in New England there’s something so charming about all the states up here. I love the seasons, how no two houses look the same on each street and how many different colors you see in each yard. I love Florida for a little getaway but personally, couldn’t live there permanently. My bf has family in the countryside in England (Darby) and England is charming in its own way but nothing compares to the coastal town in New England IMO!❤️

From PA here, alot of people have a home in the Northeast and in Florida. They're called Snowbirds. They fly south for the winter.
