Yes there's plenty of 2wd Z71s. They have Rancho shocks and a locking diff. They started making the 2wd version around 2009. The quick way to tell a 4wd Z from a 2wd is the sticker itself. A 4wd Z71 will say either offroad or 4x4 under the Z71 label while the 2wd will not. You'll be surprised how many are not 4x4.

I work at a gmc/buick dealer, I used the license plate to get the vin number. When I typed the vin number into my parts catalog it came up as a 2wd
