Okay hear me out! I’m Fluent in Spanish - learned in my mid twenties after knowing ZERO. Immerse yourself as much as you can (Mexican grocery stores, listen to the radio in Spanish just to hear people speaking it naturally). Then I watched Disney movies in Spanish a lot. The key is to know the movie well enough in English that when you hear it in Spanish you connect the phrases and start being able to figure out the rules. I have been to Mexico multiple times now and have been able to go the whole time without having to speak any English!

Mexican fan here. Watch a show you love or comfort movie in Spanish with subtitles in Spanish. If you already have a grasp on the plot, your brain will make quicker association between the words and their meaning

Watch La Rosa de Guadalupe. It isn't easy but it is simple, don't overcomplicate it.

Watch movies that you have already watch in Spanish with Spanish subtitles. Since you already now what they are saying you can understand better and the subtitles helps a lot.

Seriously IMMERSION… I think Duolingo and similar services like online flash cards help boost vocab but you need to be speaking like as much as you can, through practice you will remember the most. Watching and listening to things in Spanish will help. Eventually start reading and writing this will take you to the next step but work up to that especially to avoid pronunciation errors. Finally start studying grammer, syntax and word structure. Constantly trying to speak with people online or in person, reading and writing = compound lift. Grammer study, watching movies, listening to music, doulingo like services = isolation

Best advice is find Spanish speaking media that you are already interested in and start putting the dub if there’s one, easier to digest on animated project, train your ear but also give you a reference on how the language sounds, Pixar movies are especially great cause they are aim for children (like the ones in fourth grade😂) so the accent and cadence should be easier to follow

I learned English by listening to only English music and I would read the lyrics to get better at pronunciation and then I would look up the words in my dictionary 🤣 came here from Argentina and I didn’t speak much English
