My mom told me to just get married at her church. It was 150 for ceremony and 75 for reception in 1989. I sent her the rental agreement it now costs 5k for ceremony and 3500 for reception for just 2 hours.🙃

My venue had an add on fee to turn on the hanging lanterns and fairy lights . I told her to leave it off and take down the lights so we could hang our own temp lights. Suddenly that fee went away and they were happy to flip the switch for free instead of $1400.

As far as asking for prices before they tour I actually get moms POV. Like why should we look if it’s out of the budget? That said I know why they don’t want to go over that first. Tbh even though it’s still expensive they get more for their money with that venue.

Hate to say it; I am with the mom. Venues are crazy expensive and don’t include anything for thousands of dollars. we figured out quickly if the prices aren’t on the website/brochure we probably couldn’t afford it
