@zummr.nature: BIRTH OF THE TRAINER – While the rings were in production and the hummingbirds had flown south for the winter, I got to work on something special: a trainer to help users introduce the birds to the rings. I mounted it on our kitchen window, and sure enough, when spring returned, a curious female ruby-throated hummingbird became its biggest fan! Watching her return again and again was pure magic—and a sign that the trainer was working. FUN FACT: Ruby-throated hummingbirds make an epic spring migration—flying up to 500 miles non-stop across the Gulf of Mexico to reach the U.S. from Central America.
