There’s a joke on set to “fix it in post” i.e. use cgi to alter a continuity error, damage on costume, etc. In reality, fixing it in “pre” as Coogler does is what brings a well executed movie.

Isn't that insane? Coogler brought in all those people to get the most accurate and respectful movie possible to the representated cultures. AND did it all for $30M. This is exactly what I want in theaters.He should teach a master class for the rest of Hollywood.

you can only do this for that specific time period. if some one was making a film on viking Norway, and hired a historical consultant, all he had to say was "there were no black people at that time" and he would be fired.
