Hold the bottle in one hand and cork in other, twist bottle and cork in opposite directions and pull cork slightly at same time but not hard. Let bubbles and pressure do work of getting cork out

I think it's only presentation of how sparkling wines are made. In the end the bottles are tilted so the yeast comes down, then they freeze the wine and remove the yeast so the wine can be crystal clear.
